To facilitate discussion and new connections at our lunch, each table will be assigned a topic (with a language). Participants will choose their lunch table based on the topics. The expectation is that folks with common interests will discuss the topic over lunch, and we are also hoping to get brief reports from all our tables that we can collect after the conference.
Please use the form below to submit a topic, we are open to any suggestions, so feel free to be curious and creative! We will need your name and email, a topic title, short description (under 100 words) and the language of the discussion. Each table will be assigned a facilitator who will help focus the conversation and take brief notes. We encourage you to volunteer as the facilitator for your topic.
There are same sample topics below, to get folks started.
Title: Work Life Balance—have we reached equilibrium yet?
Description: At every “Women in Math” event I have attended in the past 30 years there is always a discussion about work life balance. Have we figured this out yet? Why is this such a confounding goal and how can we ensure that women can have careers in math and balance their lives? We are hoping more senior women will be able to offer constructive advice for the younger folks.
